An arrest was made after a man allegedly doused his roommate in hot oil during a disagreement about allowing people to use the amenities in their residence.

On October 20, a 54-year-old man was cooking ribs in the kitchen in his shared home in Tallahassee. It was reported that he and his roommate had been having disagreements about the man letting his guests use the shower and bathroom. The situation escalated when he reportedly took the grease-filled pan off the stove and approached his roommate with it. He told him to leave the home and allegedly threatened to force him out if he did not go voluntarily. It was reported that the dispute between the pair continued, and the roommate ended up covered in grease with serious burns. The alleged victim left the residence and called the authorities, and when police arrived, he was rushed to the hospital by helicopter for medical treatment of burns on his face, neck, and left arm.

Both men had different accounts of what happened during the altercation. The alleged victim claimed his roommate intentionally burned him with the oil in anger, but when the police talked to the suspect, he said the man came at him, and he was only defending himself.

A Florida Chuck E. Cheese employee was arrested while dressed as the mascot mouse after a customer accused him of stealing her debit card and using it to make multiple purchases at several different stores.

According to reports, on June 28, a woman who frequents a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant and amusement center in Tallahassee hosted a birthday party there for her child. She later realized the reloadable debit card used for her child support payment was missing. The woman recalled having it at the birthday party, and she thought she might have left it at Chuck E. Cheese. She learned that the card was used at multiple establishments, mostly smoke shops, on four occasions. Between July 3 and July 22, a total of $105 was spent. Each purchase was between $2.00 and $17.00.  The woman decided to visit one of the businesses to see if they could help her identify the alleged thief.

When she spoke to someone in charge at the store, she requested the footage from the surveillance camera during the time the card was used to see if the person was caught on video. The woman believed it was one of the workers at Chuck E. Cheese, and she shared the information with the police. Officers from the Tallahassee Police Department went to the restaurant and spoke with the man, who reportedly said he was not involved. When he was searched, it was reported that he had a receipt from a transaction made with the allegedly stolen debit card in his pocket.

A Florida man is facing multiple charges for allegedly fleeing after causing a car crash and then smashing into a police vehicle in an alleged attempt to get away.

Early in the morning on December 3, a man was driving in Tallahassee. When he was close to an intersection he allegedly crashed into another automobile. Two people in the damaged car were injured, and the man reportedly took off immediately after the accident. When the authorities learned about the situation, officers from the Tallahassee Police Department went to the scene. They set out to find the suspect and they saw him driving close to the accident site. When they attempted to pull him over, the man reportedly crashed into a curb before trying to drive away.

Police cars were parked around the suspect’s car to prevent him from leaving, but he reportedly stepped on the gas and hit an officer’s vehicle. When they interacted with him, the police reported that they believed he was driving under the influence.

A student who attends high school in northwest Florida is facing legal and academic penalties after an alleged fight with a staff member turned physically violent.

On the afternoon of September 18, students from Lincoln High School in Tallahassee headed to the cafeteria during their lunch break. A woman who works as a hall monitor at the school was scolding two female students over behaving disrespectfully, and the woman used her phone to snap a picture of the girls. She told them she took the photo so she could show it to their basketball coach as proof of their unacceptable behavior.

One of the girls reportedly tried to take the woman’s phone out of her hand, and the situation began to escalate. A brawl between the student and the hall monitor broke out, and they both ended up on the floor. According to reports, the hall monitor was seen kicking the student in the head until other students stepped in and tried to separate the pair. The girl began walking away, and the hall monitor allegedly grabbed her by the hair. The student reportedly started punching the woman.

A Georgia man was arrested after allegedly stealing merchandise from several Home Depot locations by wearing an employee uniform and loading the items into a rental truck.

32-year-old Dustin White lives in Lakeland, Georgia.

For the past few weeks, a couple of Home Depot locations in the Tallahassee area reported that they had been the targets of robberies. In the reports given to the authorities, the suspect was described as a white male wearing a Home Depot employee apron.
