A man from Oklahoma is facing charges after allegedly throwing a reportedly unresponsive woman who was wrapped in a blanket off a fourth-floor balcony.
Early in the morning on March 18, the authorities were alerted by someone who reported that someone was thrown on the ground from a balcony on a high floor of an apartment complex.
Officers with the Tulsa Police Department and firefighters went to the address reported, and they discovered a woman on the ground. She appeared to be badly injured. She was wrapped in a blanket, and upon initial investigation, it was suspected that someone had thrown her from the fourth floor.
The woman was immediately taken to the hospital where she was diagnosed as being in critical condition. She had many injuries and broken bones.
Surveillance video from the complex was viewed by the authorities, and they saw a man emerge from an apartment holding what appeared to be the alleged victim. The video showed the man throwing what he was holding off the balcony before returning to the apartment.
According to reports, the suspect initially locked himself inside the dwelling and would not come out. The police eventually got him to open the door.
The man was placed under arrest and booked into the Tulsa County Jail. At this time, he may face charges of one felony count of aggravated assault and battery, but if the alleged victim’s condition takes a turn for the worse additional charges will be considered.
He is currently being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond, and he has a court date of March 24.
The alleged victim’s current condition has not been released by the authorities, and they reported that they will only be informed if it declines.
