A young woman who worked at a daycare center located in Bryant, Arkansas, has been brought up on charges after a video was captured allegedly depicting her administering abusive behavior toward two young children.

19-year-old McKenzie Howell had worked with youngsters at the Kid’s Academy Daycare in Bryant for over a year when another employee, who is also the mother of a 2-year-old boy enrolled at the center, had concerns that her son was being mistreated when he was in Howell’s care. Upon reviewing a security video recorded at the facility showing a woman that is believed to be Howell acting in a manner that alarmed her, she notified the Child Abuse Hotline and the authorities.

The police watched the video footage and saw a woman that they suspect is Howell being forceful with the way she handled a little boy and little girl who were said to be about two-years-old. After viewing what one of the officers described as content that was difficult to watch, a warrant for Howell’s arrest was issued for the allegations.

A 7-year-old boy was found by himself at Union Station on the 4th of July after his mother allegedly abandoned him for nearly 24 hours. The child was not verbally responsive when the authorities tried to talk with him which led them to believe he might be deaf or have a developmental disability.

Employees at Union Station reported that they saw a woman and the child sitting together while having a meal, and the boy came into the kitchen area of the café unattended. When they searched for the woman that was with him, who was later suspected to be his mother, they were not able to locate her so they alerted the authorities.

The boy was believed to have a developmental or medical problem because he was not verbally expressive when the officers tried to ask him questions about why he was alone, and the Los Angeles Police Department Transit Services Division released the youngster into the custody of the LA County Department of Children and Family Services. Members of the child’s family were located the following day and they are now providing care for him in his mother’s absence.

The mother and father of an 18-year-old girl are facing charges after allegations that they locked their daughter inside of a cage in an unsanitary environment.

Richmond residents Tito and Shannon Felix are the parents of an 18-year-old daughter who suffers from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, which is a life-long condition with a variety of symptoms linked to babies being exposed to alcohol in the womb. There is no way to reverse it due to damage to the brain and nervous system.

One of the symptoms that Tito and Shannon’s daughter displays is that she tends to get up in the night and roam around.

On Saturday evening, a grandmother of two was arrested and accused of endangering her grandchildren when she took a drive with them placed in dog kennels in the back of her SUV for the trip.

Tennessee resident 62-year-old Leimome Cheeks is the grandmother of two children, ages 7 and 8. According to testimony given by some of her neighbors, she is known for being a good person and has often been seen outside playing with her grandchildren and dogs.

Cheeks reportedly took a road trip on the 95-degree evening going from Whitehaven to Collierville, with the children in tow. Cheeks had recently gotten two puppies and had their kennels in the rear of her vehicle. Her SUV was allegedly too full of items to allow the children to use the standard seats, so Cheeks asked them to ride in the kennels for the 30-minute trip instead.

In early February an incident between a school bus driver and an 8-year-old autistic child was captured on video displaying the driver mocking and putting her hands on the child. The video was publicly released, and the driver is facing criminal charges.

64-year-old Kim Cheryle Klopson drives a school bus for the Vacaville Unified School District in Vacaville, California. On the morning of February 6, she was charged with driving the special needs children to Browns Valley Elementary School.

While the bus was en route to the school Klopson reprimanded an 8-year-old autistic girl who was on board and allegedly told her that if she continued to block the aisle with her feet she was “going to be on the window,” as heard on the surveillance equipment installed inside of the bus.

After a collision between two cars took place causing several injuries in early September the woman who has been held responsible for the wreck has pleaded not guilty after being charged with child abuse and driving under the influence of marijuana.

Late in the evening on September 2, 20-year-old Adriana Sabrina Cadena was allegedly under the effects of marijuana when she was involved in a wreck with another vehicle in Orange, CA. With four people traveling in one car and six in the other, a total of ten people were a part of the accident. All of them were injured, though some more than others and four of the victims were children.

All of the people in the wreck reported that they were in pain, and one of them sustained broken bones. The four children who were passengers at the time of the collision were all reported as injured, and some of the victims were treated at the Children’s Hospital of Orange. Orange Police Department’s Sgt. Phil McMullin reported that Cadena would be charged for eight of the victims.

Parents of ten children from Fairfield, CA, are facing several felony charges after police discovered the state of their home and the condition of their children leading to suspicion that the kids have been subject to neglect and abuse.

29-year-old Jonathan Allen and his wife, 30-year-old Ina Rogers, have been together as a couple since they were teenagers. When she was 16-years-old Rogers and Allen had their first child together, and in their desire to have a large family they now raise 10 children in their home, 8 of which Rogers is the father. The children range in age with the youngest being 4-months-old and the oldest 12.

Rogers, who works full time as an EKG technician on the graveyard shift, home schools her children as well, and Allen is employed as a tattoo artist that reportedly enjoys spending time interacting and playing video games with the kids.

The parents of a 10-year-old boy who allegedly created an online campaign to raise donations for expenses related to their son’s cancer have been accused of fraudulently accepting the funds after authorities discovered that the boy did not have the disease.

GoFundMe is an online platform designed to host fundraisers created by the general public who are seeking donations for personal needs. People have collected money for causes such as gaining assistance with finances when going through rough times, help with funding independent films, and a limitless number of other causes.

On the afternoon of March 7, a mother reportedly left her 2-year-old son locked inside of her SUV in the heat for over half an hour while she was shopping.

On Monday around 2:45 p.m. Mt. Juliet police received a call from someone stating that they were concerned upon discovering a young child by himself in a vehicle in the parking lot at a Walgreens store.

Officers dispatched to the location and observed the toddler alone inside of the parked car. The boy was allegedly crying and soaked with perspiration from the heat and the police determined that he needed to be removed from the vehicle. One of the officers broke the window in order to retrieve the boy and paramedics arrived to make sure that he did not need medical assistance. They found him to be in good condition.

A mother who had left her three children unattended at home for a time is facing charges after the authorities discovered the kids outdoors and allegedly very intoxicated.

On Monday, April 30, three young children from Gastonia, NC, were allegedly left at home alone while their mother went out. During their time without a responsible adult in charge, the juveniles reportedly discovered a bottle of Grey Goose vodka and decided to help themselves to the contents.

After allegedly consuming enough of the alcohol to result in what authorities reported as a “heavily intoxicated” state, the children left the home and wandered outside. While outdoors the eldest child, a 7-year-old girl, had defecated and then proceeded to pretend she was engaging in sexual behavior with one of her younger brothers. She additionally was said to have made an attempt to get into a laundry room and smashed the protective glass encasing a fire extinguisher in order to obtain the device.
