A man was arrested at a Western Florida Walgreens on Easter Sunday after allegedly hitting a store manager with a Bible after being asked to leave the premises.

Late in the evening on March 31, a 35-year-old man went to a Walgreens Pharmacy in Clearwater intending to buy a pair of headphones. After choosing his desired item, the man encountered a store employee and reportedly had an unpleasant verbal encounter with her regarding the headphones.

The reason for the spat was not recorded in the police report, but the situation caught the store manager’s attention and she decided to tell the man to get out of the store. He was reportedly holding a Bible when she walked up to him, and after ordering him to depart from the premises, the man allegedly hit her in the face with the book of religious texts. Afterward, he complied with the manager’s demand and walked out the door.

A Florida man may face battery charges after allegedly pelting pharmacy workers with Snickers candy bars during a dispute over their refusal to sell him cigarettes.

In the early morning hours of September 4, a male customer walked into a Walgreens in Clearwater to purchase a pack of cigarettes. He approached the checkout counter and asked the employee for a pack of 305 brand cigarettes.

Walgreens has a policy requiring identification for the purchase of cigarettes, and the clerk asked the man to display his card. It was reported that he did not have his legal ID on him at the time, but he had a photograph of the card. He presented the picture, but the employee said they were unable to accept anything other than the ID itself.

When a woman was jailed for allegedly driving under the influence, she reportedly took the underwire out of her bra and tried to use it to escape. 

In the evening on Halloween, Susan Mae Sheppard, a 59-year-old living in Central Florida, was reportedly in an automobile accident while driving an SUV. 

It was reported that the collision took place at Walgreens in The Villages.

A man has been accused of stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of alcohol by stuffing the bottles down his pants in different stores and on more than one occasion.

During the months of November and December, Walgreens, Walmart, and Publix stores were allegedly robbed for hundreds of dollars’ of merchandise from their liquor departments.

When an investigation into the disappearing bottles was opened the surveillance footage from the stores was reviewed by the authorities.

On Wednesday, a Wisconsin Walgreens had been the target of a failed attempted armed robbery and the alleged suspect was seen throwing his gun onto the roof of a store while the police were chasing him.

In Milwaukee on the morning of August 22, a person with their face obscured by a skull cap who was toting a 9mm handgun reportedly attempted to rob a Walgreens pharmacy after noticing that the cash register was left unattended. The suspect was spotted by one of the people working in the store who reported that they saw him near the register and then watched him run out of the building.

A passerby saw the suspect exit the store and trailed him while using a cell phone to capture him on video. When the person that was recording saw a police car driving past he got their attention and showed them the video to try to assist them in locating the suspect who had allegedly attempted the robbery.

On the afternoon of March 7, a mother reportedly left her 2-year-old son locked inside of her SUV in the heat for over half an hour while she was shopping.

On Monday around 2:45 p.m. Mt. Juliet police received a call from someone stating that they were concerned upon discovering a young child by himself in a vehicle in the parking lot at a Walgreens store.

Officers dispatched to the location and observed the toddler alone inside of the parked car. The boy was allegedly crying and soaked with perspiration from the heat and the police determined that he needed to be removed from the vehicle. One of the officers broke the window in order to retrieve the boy and paramedics arrived to make sure that he did not need medical assistance. They found him to be in good condition.
