When police arrived at a woman’s residence to take her into custody on a warrant for drug charges she allegedly tried to hide from them, and when a K9 officer sniffed her out she reportedly stabbed him under both eyes with a makeup tool.

Officers from the Baytown Police Department went to the trailer where 23-year-old Abigail Martinez resides on the afternoon of July 30 because she had a felony warrant for charges of drug possession.

People were standing outside of the trailer and the officers asked them if they knew where Martinez was. They reported that they believed she was inside the trailer, and when the officers heard noises coming from inside they tried to find out if Martinez was present. They tried to call her outside but they reportedly did not hear any response after several tries so they entered through the unlocked door.

A Los Angeles man accused of stealing diapers from stores for close to a full year tried to escape police on Wednesday by leading them on a chase that resulted in an accident. A small child was in the car with the driver during the event.

23-year-old Darrion Tyrone Parker, a man Los Angeles County prosecutors have nicknamed the “diaper bandit,” has allegedly been involved in a string of robberies beginning in December 2016 and continuing through Wednesday. He is said to have stolen packages of diapers from various grocery stores and retail outlets in and around Long Beach by using threat of force, according to the DA’s office.

When Parker had attempted a robbery on Wednesday an employee of the store chased him into the parking lot and accosted him about his purported sticky fingers.

A gunman, now identified as Stephen Craig Paddock, of Mesquite, used a fully-automatic assault rifle to fire hundreds, perhaps thousands of rounds down onto a crowd of fans enjoying the conclusion of a three-day country music festival near the Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Over 58 people are dead and at least 400 wounded in the now-deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

In footage of the attack, dozens of shots can be heard going off in a matter of seconds. Officers and SWAT team personnel stormed the hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Casino to find Paddock dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Among the wounded and dead were four off-duty police officers.

Herbert Granados Calderon, 26, pleaded guilty this week to causing a fatal collision between three cars while intoxicated. An 18-year-old was killed and five others were injured in this crash. The crash occurred in Santa Ana, when Calderon was speeding on Bristol and ran a red light. He broadsided a Honda Civic thereby killing the person in the back seat.

Calderon pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for the 2014 collision.

He was charged with murder because he pleaded guilty in 2013 to another DUI, Driving Under the Influence of alcohol or drugs. In 2013 he was read a Watson Warning. The Watson Warning simply states that drunk driving is dangerous to human life and if the defendant continues drive drunk and someone dies, they can be charged with second degree murder. A 24-year old woman, Vrenda Moreno, was allegedly driving north on South Central Avenue in Los Angeles early Thursday morning when she claims another car cut her off. She crashed into the side of an apartment where a 5-year old boy was sleeping with two other children and his parents. The woman’s car is said to have went through the apartment wall, pinning the father and the boy underneath the wreckage and injuring two other people in the home.

Los Angeles firefighters worked diligently to free the boy and his father from under the car and mounds of debris, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey. The boy and his father were freed from the debris and taken to a Southern California hospital where the boy later died.

Investigators claim that the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol or driving while intoxicated. She was taken into custody and faces an arraignment this week.
