An elementary school PE teacher in Tennessee was suspended from his job after being arrested for allegedly driving under the influence and having drugs in his car.

On the afternoon of February 7, a man, later identified as a 39-year-old physical education teacher at John Sevier Elementary School, was driving down the Parkway in the direction of Alcoa. He was reportedly driving well over the posted speed limit and had allegedly ended up “in and out of ditches” while swerving down the road. Multiple motorists noticed the potentially unsafe situation, and the authorities received several reports about the vehicle.

An officer from the Alcoa Police Department was informed about the reports, and he began searching for the vehicle. The car was seen on the highway, and the officer, who had a K9 with him, pulled the driver over. When he began interacting with the driver, the officer reported that the man seemed intoxicated and smelled like alcohol. The K9 was near the vehicle and reportedly behaved in a way that caused the officer to believe drugs were inside. The driver allegedly gave permission for a search of his vehicle, and the officer reportedly found a substance wrapped in paper that was believed to be Fentanyl.

An elementary school principal and teacher were arrested when they were reportedly caught hosting a party with alcohol for over 100 underage attendees.

According to reports, on January 19, the principal of Roosevelt Elementary School in Cocoa Beach held a large party at her residence. She allegedly set out coolers filled with alcoholic beverages for her guests. The woman reportedly entertained over 100 individuals between 13 and 17 years old. A third-grade teacher was also reportedly in attendance, and she, along with the underage partygoers, was allegedly consuming alcohol.

Someone called the authorities to report the event, and officers from the Cocoa Beach Police Department went to the address. The outside of the house was dark, and the police believed the homeowner turned off the exterior lights to make it look like nothing was going on. They reported that they found an underage individual on the lawn who was so drunk that they needed medical intervention, and EMS was called to the scene to help. The police also noted that many teenagers at the residence were drinking, and the third-grade teacher appeared to be intoxicated. Nearby, an underage driver who was believed to be a guest at the party was arrested for DUI.

A former teacher educational childcare facility teacher is facing charges after being accused of slapping a 2-year-old across the face in response to him spitting on her.

According to reports, on November 4, children at the Kiddie Academy of Greenwood were helping the teacher clean up when one of the toddlers began misbehaving. The youngster started creating more of a mess by throwing toys, so the woman asked him to help the other children pick up. The boy, who was reportedly also using foul language, did not do as she asked, but instead spit in her face. The teacher allegedly proceeded to slap him on the left side of his face before removing him from the classroom.

When the daycare director learned about the incident they fired the teacher from her position. The surveillance video was collected and reviewed, and it was reported that it showed the child spit on the woman before she allegedly slapped him and caused him to slam into a cabinet behind him. The Department of Child Services was notified about the situation. The authorities were notified, and they were given the footage of the event. While watching it, they noted that the teacher admitted to slapping the boy after he spit on her.

An elementary school teacher and his aide are both facing charges after a 9-year-old told the authorities that the instructor taped his head to a desk and left him there for approximately one hour.

According to reports, in October, a 9-year-old student at Lenox Elementary School in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, was in class when the teacher allegedly forced him to keep his head on his desk by putting masking tape around his head and shoulders. The 67-year-old woman who works in the classroom as a teacher’s aide was present, but she reportedly did not get involved and left the youngster stuck to the desk.

The juvenile talked to the Pompton Lakes Police Department about the incident, and the information was shared with Special Victims Unit detectives. After investigating the situation, the authorities determined that the teacher should be arrested and charged. They also believed the class aide broke the law because she should have helped the boy.

An employee at a school in Ohio was arrested after her ex-boyfriend accused her of stalking him and stealing items from his car.

Last April, the romantic relationship of a woman who works for North Ridgeville Schools as a fourth-grade teacher at Ranger High-Tech Academy ended, and she reportedly refused to make a clean break. According to her ex-boyfriend, the woman spent the next six months contacting him by making many unannounced appearances at his job, his residence, and his parents’ home.

On the evening of November 6, she went to the man’s home and confronted him, resulting in an argument. His car was unlocked, and when his ex walked away, she allegedly opened one of the doors and took two backpacks out of the vehicle. The bags reportedly contained his wallet and two laptops, and the man called the police to report the incident.

A former teacher from West Richland is facing accusations of unlawfully imprisoning a student in her classroom for an hour and a half in the middle of a school day.

According to reports, the incident reportedly took place after the teacher reportedly became upset with the student after he showed excitement with a gesture when she mentioned possibly missing a future class due to illness. Although the student apologized, the teacher emailed his mother and told her the apology was inadequate. She suggested the student should do more to show that he appreciated her, such as writing a letter of apology.

The following day, the student reportedly approached the teacher after class so he could apologize again. Things escalated when the teacher allegedly locked the classroom door and insisted on praying with the student. The student said he did not practice religion, and the teacher reportedly called him a derogatory term in Spanish and made him repeat a prayer in a language he didn’t understand. Throughout the incident, the student asked multiple times if he could leave the room or call his mom, but the teacher refused. The teacher allegedly kept the student in the classroom for an entire class period and caused him to miss lunch.

A Florida elementary school teacher is facing charges after allegedly mistreating a student with disabilities at an elementary school in Palm Bay.

According to reports, on August 22, a 41-year-old teacher at Sunrise Elementary School in Palm Bay attempted to move a student, who was described as low-functioning and only slightly verbal. When the child did not want to cooperate, the teacher allegedly pushed her. The girl threw herself on the floor and the teacher allegedly grabbed the youngster and pinned her arms down while straddling her. Afterward, she reportedly dragged the student by her wrists across the classroom toward a bathroom and held the door shut so the child was unable to get out.

After the authorities were notified, officers from the City of Palm Bay Police Department went to the school to investigate. They reported that several people talked to them and said they witnessed the incident, and that they had concerns about how the teacher treated the students. They also told the officers that the woman put other children in the bathroom to punish them.

A Washington elementary school teacher and her husband were arrested on school grounds when the woman was allegedly found in her classroom high on narcotics, and the man was reportedly high in the parking lot with their toddler.

According to reports, during the school day on May 16, a 35-year-old teacher was in her classroom at Spotswood Elementary School in Fredericksburg. Her husband and 2-year-old child were on the campus, but they were inside a vehicle in the parking lot.

A school resource officer saw the teacher and asserted that she was altered. Her classroom was searched, and they allegedly found narcotics. Since the resource officer thought the woman was on drugs, it was believed that they were hers. All the children were assessed as a precaution, and they were all reported as unharmed.

Following the arrest of a Catholic grade school teacher who allegedly used photos of students to digitally create pornography that was distributed to others, a lawsuit against the archdiocese was filed.

Between the end of March 2022 and the beginning of February 2024, a 39-year-old man who taught seventh and eighth-grade religion classes at St. Stephen Martyr Catholic School in Louisville, Kentucky, was allegedly creating pornographic pictures of students. According to reports, he used yearbook photos that were taken at the school and manipulated the images by combining them with pornographic material. The man also allegedly distributed the faux photos of the kids online.

The authorities learned about the situation and opened an investigation. They reportedly discovered that the IP address used to share the pornographic images matched the one the teacher was using. It was reported that undercover agents working on the case received hundreds of pictures from the account associated with the suspect. On February 2, the man was arrested for the allegations.

A special needs elementary school teacher and her aide are facing charges after allegedly tying a non-verbal autistic youngster to a chair during recess.

According to reports, on February 2, a woman who has worked at G.D. Rogers Garden-Bullock Elementary School as an Exceptional Student Education teacher for approximately 2 years was recently involved in an incident with a 7-year-old child. Her teacher’s aide was also reportedly a participant.

When the students are taken from one part of the school to another, the teachers use a walking rope to make the transition easier and keep the children from wandering. During recess, the woman and her aide reportedly used some of the ropes to restrain the boy, who was sitting on the ground, by tying him to the back of a chair. He was allegedly left there for at least an hour.
