The authorities arrested a North Dakota teenager who they believed was using the internet to find young children to babysit so he could have sexual relations with them.

According to reports, the adoptive father of a 16-year-old who was in the custody of Cass County Social Services in Mandan recently called the authorities when he found out his younger child had received pornographic images on his cell phone. The dad reported that he believed his adopted son was the sender, and the police opened an investigation.

When they accessed and reviewed the alleged offending teen’s internet usage, the authorities reportedly discovered that he was connected with multiple babysitting groups on Facebook where he offered to sit for children between the ages of 4 and 8. He allegedly made it known that he was predominantly interested in babysitting for little girls, but would consider little boys as well. His browser history reportedly showed a lot of searches related to ways to prevent getting caught when grooming youngsters for sexual purposes. In addition to the alleged internet material, it was reported that he had a computer directory containing videos with grooming instructions, hundreds of photographs and videos of children, and pictures of a 6-year-old girl that they believed he made.

The adoptive mother of a 22-year-old with special needs is facing multiple charges after she allegedly chained the woman to a bed frame by the neck and left her in her own excrement for almost a week.

Just after midnight on May 29, a woman returned home from the store and reportedly heard screaming coming from the second floor. When she went to inspect, the woman reportedly discovered her mentally disabled adopted older sister. She allegedly had a chain around her neck keeping her bound to the bed frame in the room. Her hips were held in place with a bicycle lock, and her sister found the key and freed her.

The authorities were notified, and it was reported that the mother returned to the residence until she learned the police were coming. Her younger daughter kept her away from the room. She did not want her mother to move anything around before the officers could inspect it. Before the police got there, the mother reportedly took the chain and lock and left the residence.

A Florida couple has been accused of abusing one of their adopted children by locking him in the garage from the outside regularly over the course of five years. 

46-year-old Tracy Ferriter and her husband Timothy Ferriter, also 46, reside in the Egret Landing community in Jupiter, Florida. They are the adoptive parents of four children. 

One of their children is a 14-year-old boy.

Washington authorities have accused an adoptive mother of forcing her youngster to endure hundreds of reckless, medically unnecessary doctor’s appointments and procedures.

31-year-old Sophie Hartman lives in King County, Washington. The woman adopted a 6-year-old girl and her sister, who had been orphans in Zambia, Africa. The 6-year-old suffers from a neurological disorder called alternating hemiplegia of childhood (AHC), according to Hartman.

Based on her assertion that the child has AHC, since 2016, Hartman reportedly took her to nearly 500 doctor visits for various reported ailments.

A children’s book author and her husband who allegedly subjected their adopted children to devastating long-term abuse were taken into custody in Seminole County.

Joseph and Jennifer Wolfthal have a home in Casselberry with their 9-year-old boy and two girls, ages 8 and 11. The Wolfthals adopted all three children in 2014.

Jennifer, who spent 8-years as a 4th-grade teacher, recently published a children’s book titled “A Real Friend.”

Three people from North Carolina are facing criminal charges after a mom allegedly gave her baby to a couple last year in exchange for a 1992 Plymouth.

In July 2019, a 2-year-old child was brought to the hospital by 47-year-old Tina Chavis, and the youngster reportedly had bruises on her body. The hospital staff reported the marks on the girl to the police, in addition to child protective services, and an investigation was opened.

When the authorities talked to Chavis, she at first allegedly said she was the girl’s mother and afterward explained that she and her husband, 53-year-old Vicenio Mendoza Romero, had adopted the child.

A Florida couple has been accused of holding their purportedly adopted daughter’s hostage and subjecting them to various forms of abuse for many years.

Mirko Ceska, 58, and Regina Ceska, 55, reside on a property with a home and small farm in Crawfordville, Florida. Some of their neighbors reported that they always believed the couple was introverted by nature and lived on the land by themselves.

The Ceska’s adopted 12-year-old twin girls over 10-years ago.
