A Lee County deputy is one of three people facing charges for allegedly working together to plant drugs on a suspect to set him up for an unlawful arrest. 

Niko Irizarry began working for the Lee County Sheriff’s Office in 2018. The sheriff reported that Irizarry had never been reprimanded in his time with the agency.  

On December 16, 2021, Irizarry and two other men identified as 36-year-old Charles Custodio and 29-year-old Scott Snider allegedly orchestrated a plan to target a real estate agent for drug crimes.

When the police pulled over a driver and reportedly found an assortment of drugs and paraphernalia, the suspect allegedly told them that what they assumed to be methamphetamine was breath mints. 

32-year-old Stephen Whalen is from Tarpon Springs, Florida. It was reported that Whalen was incarcerated for a year and a half for a prior drug conviction, and he was released two years ago. 

Whalen also had a prior encounter with the law that resulted in the loss of his driver’s license.

When the police allegedly caught a Florida man holding drugs and several hypodermic needles, he reportedly told them he had the syringes to use while fishing. 

30-year-old Eric Bennett is a lawn care worker who resides in Vero Beach. 

According to reports, in the early afternoon on January 22, Bennett walked to a local mobile park where his uncle lives.

A woman was arrested after she was reportedly caught trying to sell narcotics to cover the cost of an attorney for pending drug charges. 

28-year-old Nicole Gregory has recently been arrested more than once for drug-related offenses.  

In August, Gregory was accused of possessing methamphetamine and fentanyl.

A woman who operates a Florida fentanyl rehabilitation center was arrested for allegedly selling drugs to the patients at the facility.

50-year-old Misty Leigh Gilley is the manager and owner of Simply Recovery LLC in Altamonte Springs.

The website for the facility says they aid with many aspects of recovery, including medication maintenance and management.

Two Ohio officers are facing charges with heavy penalties after being accused of attempting to distribute several kilos of fentanyl and cocaine.

33-year-old John Kotchkoski and 44-year-old Marco Merino were both narcotics officers in Columbus, Ohio.

The federal authorities suspected that the pair were working together to make money off of large drug sales, and they decided to open an investigation.

A mother allegedly involved in drug trafficking has been accused of enlisting her two daughters to make sales.

34-year-old Suleyka Santiago lives with her children in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Her boyfriend, who was implicated in a drug trafficking operation, was incarcerated in October.

In June, a confidential informant (CI) let the Montgomery County Detectives Narcotics Enforcement Team know that they suspected Santiago had stepped in for her boyfriend in the drug trafficking ring.

Around 5:00 am on April 24, Adams was reportedly the passenger in a vehicle traveling around the local area.

The mother and father of a youngster who previously overdosed on fentanyl have been taken into custody after the boy reportedly experienced a second overdose from ingesting their drugs.

39-year-old Donald Ray Little, Jr. and 27-year-old Mary Ashley Willis live in Berkeley County, South Carolina, and they have a 1-year-old son.

On March 17, the family was reportedly staying in a motel in Columbia.

The owner of an addiction treatment center in Kansas is facing charges after he was allegedly found with a large stash of drugs, in addition to other items causing the authorities to assert that he is involved in trafficking.

44-year-old Trevor J. Robinson lives and works in Olathe. He is the owner and operator of the Nuvista LLC, which provides services as an opioid addiction treatment clinic that uses Suboxone to help the patients.

At the end of October, Robinson, who had an active warrant out for his arrest, was in his Maserati when the authorities caught up with him.
