Two people in southern Florida were accused of targeting individuals wearing expensive watches who were frequenting nightclubs and robbing them at gunpoint.

On August 2, the first of a string of alleged armed robberies took place after a man left the LIV Nightclub. When he returned to his Airbnb, an individual reportedly pulled a gun out and forced him to hand over his $80,000 Rolex watch and quickly left in a vehicle driven by another person. The following day, another alleged victim had their Rolex taken at gunpoint, and it was believed that the same suspect was involved. Several additional expensive timepieces had reportedly been taken from others in the area, many of whom encountered the suspect after leaving local clubs.

Several agencies worked together to investigate the incidents, including the Miami Beach Police Department, the City of Miami Police Department, the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office, and the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. Using footage from surveillance cameras, they were able to find out that the alleged getaway car belonged to the sister of a 30-year-old man. They suspected he was the perpetrator, and a woman who was previously convicted of similar crimes was the driver. They believed each alleged victim was followed home before being robbed at gunpoint. The authorities searched the man’s home for possible evidence of his involvement. While there, they reportedly found $16,400 and more than $176,000 worth of items they believed had been stolen.

The adult son of a woman’s in-home employee in southeastern Florida is facing multiple charges after he was accused of stealing when the employer reported that she was missing over $30,000 worth of jewelry.

According to reports, a woman who lives in Palm Beach notified the authorities last week to let them know she had discovered jewelry worth approximately $34,000 was missing from her collection. She said she couldn’t locate two Rolex watches, two gold necklaces, and multiple pendants, including two with diamonds, and one with a ruby,  diamond, and sapphire, and she believed they had been stolen. The woman added that while her housekeeper and housekeeper’s son were there, she left her home on April 19, and posited that the pieces were taken while she was gone. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation.

The authorities tracked down approximately $26,600 worth of what was identified as the alleged victim’s missing jewelry between a pawn shop in West Palm Beach and a pawn shop in Lake Worth. The establishments provided surveillance videos that reportedly showed the individual who pawned the items, and the man was identified as the housekeeper’s 39-year-old son.

After three reported jewelry robberies took place over the past year with the alleged victims being men who were visiting nightclubs, the authorities have identified 22-year-old Ocsetta Tinsley as the alleged perpetrator of the thefts.

In August 2017, Tinsley reportedly made the acquaintance of a 44-year-old man when she was the patron of the same New York nightclub he was in. When the man invited her back to his apartment she allegedly took jewelry valued at nearly $80,000 from his home without his consent.
