A man who is on parole out of Wyoming was arrested in Utah on multiple theft charges when the police located the suspect after a local news station asked for the public’s help to find him.

On the evening of May 9, a man driving a Dodge Ram reportedly entered a residential driveway in Taylorsville and parked his truck. After getting out of the vehicle, he allegedly tried to open the door to the home and then kicked open a fence in the yard. According to reports, he swiped tools from the sheds and put them in the back of his truck before driving away. When the residents returned home, they saw the broken fence and damage to their door and notified the authorities.

The alleged victims supplied the police with a home surveillance video of the incident, and it helped them identify the person they believed was the culprit. The footage was also shown on the news when a local station covered the story and asked the public to call if they had any information. Multiple people reached out, and three days after the alleged robbery, the police saw the man driving what was believed to be the same truck seen in the surveillance video. When he noticed the police, the man allegedly tried to escape but was quickly apprehended.
