50-year-old Lee Anne Huff teaches 5th-grade math and science in the Pinellas County School district. She instructs children at the Leila G. Davis Elementary School in Clearwater, Florida.

Around 2:30 am on June 11, Huff was reportedly sitting in the driver’s seat of her vehicle with her head draped over the steering wheel.

A substitute teacher in Georgia is facing felony charges after allegedly recording herself while masturbating in front of her classroom of students.

30-year-old Amelia Ressler is a mother from Carroll County, Georgia.

Ressler used to work as a substitute teacher at the Mt. Zion Elementary School in Carrollton, but the length of her employment there has not been disclosed.

A children’s book author and her husband who allegedly subjected their adopted children to devastating long-term abuse were taken into custody in Seminole County.

Joseph and Jennifer Wolfthal have a home in Casselberry with their 9-year-old boy and two girls, ages 8 and 11. The Wolfthals adopted all three children in 2014.

Jennifer, who spent 8-years as a 4th-grade teacher, recently published a children’s book titled “A Real Friend.”

A Florida woman who teaches middle school was reportedly discovered asleep in her vehicle with drugs and paraphernalia laying on the seat next to her.

40-year-old Robin Ramos teaches 6th-grade math to students at Kathleen Middle School in Lakeland.

Just after midnight on January 12, Ramos was reportedly in a Nissan at the RaceTrac food and gas stop located off of Highway 98.

A Florida man who worked with youngsters at a school and church has been arrested after the authorities reportedly found hundreds of pornographic files depicting children from age 10-months to teens.

46-year-old Shawn Fitzgerald is a teacher at Lakeland High School for children with special needs. He also coaches the boys’ varsity soccer team at the school and works in Bartow at the First United Methodist Church as the director of youth services.

In February, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children shared information with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office concerning a video they reportedly found when searching through files uploaded to a messenger app.

Three people were arrested last Saturday when they were accused of using paint to vandalize the newly added wooden casing surrounding the historic statue of Christopher Columbus in Rhode Island.

Just before the weekend, the statue of Christopher Columbus that sits in Columbus Square in the city of Providence was housed in a plywood container.

It was reported that the structure was constructed to protect the statue during an upcoming project involving machinery deemed a risk to the effigy, in addition to taking precautions against possible vandals during the recent protests.

A teacher at a Texas high school has been charged after he opened a file containing pornography that was displayed in front of the class during a lesson.

At the end of September, high school science teacher James Edward Alleman III was using a projector as a part of his instruction to his class and when he began the lesson it was reported that sexual content popped up on the screen.

The faux pas was reported to the school staff by one of the classmates in attendance, who additionally said that Alleman verbalized to those who viewed it that the incident shouldn’t have happened.

In September 2013, elementary school teacher Ethel Anderson was convicted of 9 sex crimes against a student. She is currently awaiting an upcoming hearing to appeal to the courts to have her sentence reduced.

Anderson, who was 31 at the time of the sentencing, was accused of carrying out a sexual relationship with a teenage boy who was 13-years-old at the time that the assaults were believed to have taken place.

It was reported that she was tutoring the teen outside of the classroom when the events took place and that they had exchanged hundreds of text messages, some of which were viewed as sexual in nature.

Wildwood, Florida, resident Carolyn Roach Doggett, a woman who works as a first-grade elementary school teacher, was accused of driving under the influence of alcohol on Monday while she was in the vicinity of a local charter school.

On the afternoon of July 2, after the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office was notified with information about a possible reckless driver they dispatched to the reported area that the vehicle was seen, which was within half a mile of The Villages Charter School.

Officers encountered the sports utility vehicle that they suspected was the motorist they received the call about and they reported that the turn signal remained in the on position the entire time they were in pursuit and that the SUV was allegedly weaving erratically enough that several accidents were narrowly avoided.

A Las Vegas elementary school teacher on her way to work last Tuesday morning was placed under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.

46-year-old April Shepard is a fourth-grade teacher at Tom Williams Elementary School, and she has worked within the Clark County School District for a total of 21 years.

As Shepard entered the school parking lot around 7:30 a.m. on the morning of April 3 she reportedly made impact with two parked vehicles. When she tried to get out of her car she was unable to steady herself and two parents nearby came to her assistance by helping her to stand.
