An Arizona couple is accused of confining their two young children in a bedroom around the clock under reportedly extreme and unsanitary conditions, according to investigators.

Sources report police were alerted after a concerned person noticed a naked child through an apartment window while working nearby. That tip prompted officers to conduct a welfare check in late January. When they arrived, they allegedly found conditions that raised concerns about the children’s safety and development.

Investigators reportedly discovered that the children, ages 4 and 6, were kept inside a single room for most or all of the day. The room allegedly contained a gate, and the bathroom was reportedly blocked off with zip ties placed on the doorknob, preventing the children from using the toilet. Officers also allegedly observed widespread filth inside the apartment, including feces and an insect infestation.

A Florida mother is facing criminal charges after her young autistic son was nearly beaten to death, reportedly by her boyfriend. However, her attorney says the mother is also a victim of abuse.

The case began earlier this month when police responded to a home in Miami after a report of a 6-year-old child in cardiac arrest. When officers arrived, the boy had no pulse. CPR was started until paramedics arrived and were able to revive him. The child was rushed to a hospital and later transferred to a children’s hospital because of the severity of his injuries.

Doctors reported that the boy had serious internal injuries, including bleeding in his brain and abdomen. He also suffered injuries to several organs, a broken arm, and bruises and scratches on his face and back. Medical staff asserted that the injuries could not have been caused by an accident and were likely the result of force.

A Missouri child reportedly suffered for more than a year with a painful and worsening infection while his parents allegedly failed to seek medical treatment.

Authorities say the situation was discovered in mid-October 2025, after school officials noticed large sores on the boy’s body. The child was eventually taken to a local clinic, where medical staff immediately became concerned about the severity of his condition. The sores were reportedly large, painful, and made it difficult for him to sit.

While at the clinic, the staff requested a urine sample from the child. According to investigators, his father, who brought him in, allegedly disposed of the sample before it could be tested. Police say he later admitted he was afraid of what the test might reveal and worried about possible consequences for the family. He reportedly suggested there were concerns involving drugs, alcohol, or other substances.

On the afternoon of December 20, a Tennessee Highway Patrol officer encountered a vehicle being driven in Chattanooga. When the registration number was checked, it appeared that it was not the proper tag on the license plate. The trooper pulled over the driver, identified as a 35-year-old local woman, and they noted that a youngster was in the front passenger’s seat without a child restraint. After collecting the driver’s license, the woman presented, it was reportedly learned that it had been suspended.

The situation worsened when the trooper told the woman that it was recorded that she had multiple warrants out of Georgia, and she would need to have the youngster’s father take a 90-minute cab ride to retrieve the child. It was chilly outside, and the trooper made space in his vehicle to allow her and the youngster to wait inside with his heater on. According to reports, instead of taking the trooper’s offer, the woman quickly drove away. He was able to follow her, and the woman ended up on a dead-end street. The trooper’s vehicle was behind her, and she allegedly backed up and slammed into it.

The woman was taken into custody and booked into the Hamilton County Jail. She is facing multiple preliminary charges, including evading arrest, driving on a revoked, suspended or canceled license, child neglect, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, financial responsibility, failure to carry and display license, driving an unregistered vehicle, unlawful removal of a registration decal or license plate, improper backing of vehicle, driving without exercising due care, and a child restraint law violation. At the time this was written, facility records showed that she was being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.

Authorities in Texas say a young child was placed in serious danger after she was captured on a property owner’s overnight camera roaming through a field in the early morning hours. The footage, taken around 3 a.m., reportedly showed a young girl wandering alone in the dark in temperatures that had dropped into the 40s. She appeared to be dressed only in a light outfit and was barefoot. The cam owner contacted the authorities a couple of hours later and reported the images.

Deputies immediately began searching the surrounding area. Not long into the search, the child’s mother contacted authorities and reported that her daughter had gotten out of the house earlier that morning. She said she had located the child around 4:15 a.m. but had not informed law enforcement until after sunrise.

When deputies arrived at the family’s residence, they reported finding conditions that raised concerns. The home allegedly contained trash, spoiled food, unsanitary clothing, and evidence of rodents. The toddler was also reportedly dirty, and the mother allegedly declined to provide fresh clothing or accept assistance.
