Last week, a grand jury indicted a retired former police captain in Kentucky on many burglary, theft, and drug-related charges.

At the beginning of the year, the Somerset Police Department suspected possible illegal activity was taking place at the hands of their former police captain. They notified the Kentucky State Police, and they opened an investigation into the allegations.

The man worked for the police department for 20 years, and he retired approximately two months before the investigation began.

 A woman was taken into custody after being caught on video allegedly making a scene at an American Airlines counter and throwing a computer at an employee. 

On the afternoon of December 20, a woman and her two youngsters flew from Alabama to the Miami Airport to catch a connecting American Airlines flight to New York City. 

The woman missed her flight, so she was scheduled for another one.

A Florida man is facing several charges after being accused of extorting underage girls to force them into giving him explicit photos and sexual favors. 

61-year-old Jose Manuel Pinto Florez lives in St. Johns, Florida. 

According to reports, someone notified the authorities in June and reported that they suspected unauthorized activities were occurring on a computer network.

A man in Pennsylvania has been arrested as the suspect in a string of burglaries that took place in Peddler’s Village beginning last December. 

According to their website, Peddler’s Village in Buck’s County is a “storybook village with charming colonial-style buildings, award-winning gardens, and distinctive shopping, dining, and lodging.” They additionally mention that “clothing, accessories, home goods, specialty foods, art, gifts, and more in 60+ shops and specialty boutiques” are available to their patrons. 

In December, various establishments in Peddler’s Village began to report that someone had stolen merchandise from their stores. A description of the alleged suspect was given to the authorities.

A Florida man being processed out of jail after paying bail was taken back into custody on April Fool’s Day for allegedly swiping a webcam attached to a computer in the facility.

35-year-old Steven Lawrence Moran resides in Vero Beach, Florida.

At the end of February, Moran was taken into custody by the Indian River County Sheriff’s Department for a felony criminal mischief charge. He was incarcerated on a $1,000 bond.

A North Carolina man was reportedly in his Tesla using autopilot while watching a film on his phone when he allegedly caused an accident involving two police vehicles.

66-year-old Devainder Goli is a resident of Raleigh, and he works as an emergency room physician at the Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Around midnight last Wednesday, Goli was reportedly driving his Tesla down Highway 64.

A man with a previous conviction involving a sex crime with a minor has been accused of walking 351 miles in an alleged attempt to fornicate with a teenager that he reportedly believed was 14-years-old.

On October 1, a man made contact with someone on Facebook using the name “Kylee” with the profile information of a 14-year-old girl. The girl was listed as a resident of Neenah, Wisconsin.

A Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputy with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was operating the account associated with Kylee’s profile in an attempt to try to find people with the intention of making inappropriate contact with underage internet users.

The mother of a student was arrested last month when she went to her son’s school and allegedly lashed out at children for their bullying behavior.

Jamie Rathburn has a son who attends Greenbrier Elementary School in the Greenville County School District.

The communications director at the district confirmed that nearly 1,900 reports regarding bullying in the 91 schools in the district have been received over the past three years.

A man who worked for the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services has been accused of having a collection of files on a computer, of which he is the purported owner, that contained several hundreds of digital images of pornography depicting children.

Last month, 54-year-old Carlos Enrique Castillo, a man who had a job with the LA DCFS, was allegedly found with more than 600 images in the form of digital pictures and videos on his PC that showed youngsters in a sexual manner.

An investigation into the situation reportedly uncovered details leading to the suspicion that Castillo not only had the pornographic materials but also had participated in sharing them online. The alleged activity has been reported as taking place over a period of approximately 120 days.

A woman from Colorado is facing several felony charges for allegations that she fraudulently accepted unemployment benefits while earning unreported money from jobs at the same time.

36-year-old Meadoe R. Croker began a claim for unemployment benefits beginning in January 2015 and started receiving checks shortly thereafter. She additionally renewed her claims in January 2016 and 2017.

Random audits are performed through the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment and a company in Grand Junction that Croker allegedly worked for was chosen to have their accounts examined. It was discovered that Croker was purportedly an employee of the business while she was still accepting her unemployment checks, and an investigation was opened.
