Four people from Missouri suspected of theft and burglary were tracked down after one of the men reportedly involved accidentally butt-dialed 911.
Early in the morning on July 27, Cole County 911 received a call from someone who disconnected the line before they provided any information.
The authorities found the location where the call came from, and Deputies from the Cole County Sheriff’s Office went to the address to see if someone needed help.
Three men who were arrested for allegedly stealing over $1,000 worth of merchandise at Target in Brick Township are also suspected of taking part in several similar thefts that occurred throughout the state.
On the afternoon of April 6, a Target store in Brick was reportedly robbed by three men.
When the authorities were alerted, detectives with the Police Street Crimes Unit went to the store to investigate the situation. It was reported that they had been investigating similar thefts that had been taking place in large retail stores, such as Target and Walmart. The heists had been taking place recently in the local area, as well as in other parts of New Jersey.
South Carolina Attorney Alex Murdaugh turned himself in last Thursday after he allegedly misappropriated millions of dollars from his law firm.
53-year-old Alex Murdaugh resides in Hampton. He obtained a state bar license in 1994. Murdaugh is a partner at the law firm that his great-grandfather started in 1901.
In addition to practicing personal injury law, Murdaugh is a prosecutor for the 14th Judicial Court.
A Georgia man was arrested after allegedly stealing merchandise from several Home Depot locations by wearing an employee uniform and loading the items into a rental truck.

On September 2, Diggins was reportedly in charge of taking care of a woman with stage 4 pancreatic cancer when the patient’s regular aide was unable to work her shift at the last minute.
Beginning at midnight, and for a period of approximately 11-hours, Diggins reportedly stayed at the residence to provide care for the woman. The patient and her spouse slept through the night while Diggins was at their home.
When the police accused a man of using the debit card of an alleged victim that was deceased, the suspect reportedly tried to consume the plastic before it could be confiscated.
On March 16, a man later identified as 37-year-old Jose Herrera was reportedly frequenting the Disney Springs complex in Orlando, Florida and shopping for items with a debit card.
When Herrera attempted to buy jewelry with the card, Disney security held him while the authorities were notified due to the suspicion that it may have been a fraud.

The caller, who asserted that they were the victim, reported a situation involving the elderly New Jersey resident being scammed out of money. The person said they thought they had sent $11,000 to someone who called to inform them that they had a computer virus and would remove it for a fee, but after mailing the money they suspected they had been scammed.
When the authorities investigated the claim they reportedly uncovered details that appeared to coincide with those that the caller had given. It was allegedly found that someone who was offering their services to remove computer viruses was using FedEx shipments as a means of accepting payment.
