A West Virginia couple were arrested after one of the four children in their care reported them to the authorities for alleged child abuse including residing in a filthy home filled with raw sewage.

On May 18, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of a situation involving a 13-year-old who reported that abuse was taking place at the Grant Town home in which he and 3 younger children reside. An investigation was opened, and deputies were sent to the residence to follow up on the report. When they arrived, they suspected there was truth to the claims.

According to reports, the deputies spotted trash all over the front yard and the floor of the home. They saw the youngster who made the report and they noted that he had visible bruising and blood on his body. A strong odor was present, and the deputies alleged that the toilet was overflowing with raw sewage, and the bathroom had “an infestation of flies.”

A 39-year-old father was arrested in Florida after deputies discovered his five children were allegedly living in squalor.

On the evening of September 27, a youngster wandered into a woman’s car as she delivered groceries. Concerned about the child’s safety, she notified the authorities.

Deputies from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office responded and spoke with the father of the child. When asked, he allowed the deputies to come inside. Upon entering, they reportedly found the home in a deplorable state. They reported that the children, aged 2, 4, 8, 15, and 16, were found in the house. All five children were living in the residence with their father, their mother, and a roommate who had been there for approximately 2 years.

A couple from southeast Nebraska who owns a nutrition store were arrested for allegedly raising children in extreme filth in their home.

According to reports, the conditions were so bad that their children allegedly lived among dead animals. Police were notified by the state’s child welfare agency, which reported that the children had to eat in the bathroom since it was the only clean area. When officers arrived, they allegedly found the home filled with animal feces, trash, and urine. The father was found sleeping in his car, and they purported he was doing so to avoid the mess inside.

Inside the house, officers noticed feces and urine everywhere, along with piles of trash. Flypaper was hanging from the ceiling, covered in dead insects. One child’s room reportedly had a small section of the bed for sleeping, with the rest filled with trash that reached the ceiling. The room also had a rabbit hutch overflowing with waste.

The mother and father of six children were arrested after the police learned they were reportedly keeping the kids in an unhygienic filthy residence with rotten food and non-working amenities. 

On February 21, the mother and father of six children, ranging in age from 2 to 11 years old, were having a domestic issue. The man was sleeping in a car, and the woman called the police and asked them to come to the home and make him leave. 

Officers were sent to the address, and they reported that it was not the first time they had been there for problems between the pair. They said it was already determined that the man was legally allowed to be at the house.

Soiled 18-month-old twins were reportedly discovered in the back seat of a vehicle while two adults were blacked out in the front with drugs visible. 

29-year-old Stephanie Sandlin is a mother of 18-month-old fraternal twins. They live in Middletown, Ohio. 

On June 6, Sandlin and her twins were with 48-year-old Justin Simpson, also a Middletown resident. Simpson was driving the vehicle with Sandlin in the front passenger seat. Her children were in the back of the van.

The authorities reported that the mother of two youngsters allowed her children to live in a highly unsanitary environment with 34 dogs and an immense amount of garbage. 

29-year-old Lindsay Arnold and her partner, 46-year-old Christina Garcia, live in Lemmon Valley, Nevada. Arnold’s 7 and 9-year-old children also live with the pair. 

Around 7:00 am on January 31, deputies with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office stopped by Arnold’s address to perform a requested welfare check.

A 2-year-old was found unharnessed and hidden under a large amount of garbage in his grandmother’s truck when she was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Last Sunday evening, 51-year-old Claudia Patterson, who has several prior infractions for driving under the influence of alcohol, was reportedly driving her truck in Memphis with her young grandson in the vehicle.

An officer with the Memphis Police Department was en route to the scene of an incident when they saw Patterson’s truck and asserted the driver was speeding and maneuvering the vehicle unsafely.

After the father of her child ended their relationship, the mother of a newborn reportedly ditched the baby at a stranger’s residence and ran away.

33-year-old Melissa Kelley lives in Astor, Florida, and she recently gave birth to a son.

Kelley and her son’s father ended their relationship, and the woman was reportedly very emotionally distressed over the breakup.

A couple was jailed after a newborn was allegedly found hidden in what the authorities described as a “deplorable” environment, and lacking prenatal and postnatal care.

David Fisher Jr. and Nina Gebhart live in a mobile home in Gunstown, Georgia, and Gebhart recently gave birth to a child.

Beginning on November 3, the Lee County Sheriff’s Department reported that they received reports from more than one person who expressed concern that there was a newborn in Fisher Jr. and Gebhart’s residence. The callers said that they were worried the infant might need medical care.

When a man reportedly became angered after his girlfriend tossed his pizza in the garbage, he allegedly struck her with a piece of the pie before the woman reached the receptacle.

On the evening of September 23, 59-year-old Sean Metcalf was spending time with his 51-year-old girlfriend in an apartment in Port Charlotte.

The woman was reportedly tidying up, and she discovered a box of pizza that she believed was empty.
