Pistol Pulled During Fight over Bruno Mars Song

On a Friday evening, 71-year-old Roger D. Washburn was spending time with two of his friends at his home. They were unsure about who the singer of a popular song was and it became the subject of a debate.

One of the men said that he believed the song was sung by Bruno Mars, but Washburn did not agree. When the man, who has been friends with Washburn for half a century, provided proof of his claim the fight continued.

Washburn allegedly grabbed a handgun and struck his friend in the face and arm with it causing it to fire, but no one was hit by the bullet. His friend reportedly defensively swung at Washburn and the gun fired a second time.

Son with Huffing Habit Used Spatula to Beat Mom

A man from West Virginia has been accused of assaulting his mother with a spatula after getting high from huffing paint and he is facing charges for the allegations.

Police got word about an incident that was suspected to have resulted in someone sustaining injuries. They dispatched to the location to assess the situation and when they arrived they found a man sitting in front of the house.

The man, identified as 30-year-old Glenn Allen Casdorph, had what appeared to be silver paint on his hands and face, and he was allegedly holding a steel bar.

Man Running for Congress Serving as Own Council on DUI Charge

A congressional candidate in Georgia who was arrested and charged for allegations that he was driving while intoxicated has decided to act as his own legal representation in the case.

Steven Lamar Foster is a 61-year-old man who is currently running as a candidate for the Democrat party in Georgia’s 14^th Congressional District.

Foster, a former physician, was reportedly the patron of a local Applebee’s on September 23, and when he was leaving the establishment in his vehicle he was pulled over by law enforcement because he allegedly did not have his headlights on.

Woman Arrested For Sending 65,000 Texts After One Date

An Arizona woman who met a man online and accompanied him on one date is facing charges for accusations of stalking him by sending him 65,000 text messages, some of which were disturbing in content. She also allegedly broke into his home.

Luxy is an internet-based millionaire matchmaking site with the objective of creating romantic connections between people seeking specific partners.

31-year-old Jacqueline Ades made an account on the website and began communicating with a man with whom she desired a love relationship. Last summer the man took Ades out for a date in person and she allegedly wanted to continue seeing him regularly.

Mother Facing Charges for Providing Drugs to Toddler

A mother is facing several charges after a police investigation led authorities to suspect that she was giving drugs to her 2-year-old and encouraging the child to use the substances.

In mid-January, authorities received a tip from a person reporting that they allegedly knew of a woman who was exposing her baby to methamphetamines and marijuana. It was also reported that the woman, identified as 20-year-old Kaitlyn Ecker, was permitting the child to partake in use of the illicit substances.

The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Department’s Persons Crimes Unit of the Criminal Investigations Division began looking into the claim and spoke with people who had been in contact and proximity of Ecker. During their statements, several of them confirmed that Ecker allegedly gave the child drugs and that she was even known to joke that the toddler was able to “roll joints.”

Avoiding a DUI this July 4

Although the message of not drinking and driving is a simple one, DUIs account for about 3,200 arrests each day throughout the United States. Additionally, about one third of those arrests are by repeat offenders. The OC Sheriff and local police departments will be out in force on July 4 to nab those who are driving drunk, or even just buzzed. They may set up routine checkpoints to check whether drivers have been drinking, or they may target individuals who are driving erratically. Cell phones allow concerned citizens to act as an enforcement unit of their own, reporting drunk drivers on highways or in their neighborhoods. Those who have been reported may arrive home to find the police waiting for them in their driveway.

Police on patrols may be extra vigilant on holidays, paying close attention to drivers and the way they are driving. If you make an illegal U-turn, fail to completely stop at a stop sign, drive above the speed limit, or weave or drive erratically, they may be more inclined to stop you to check for a possible DUI. Once you are pulled over, there are certain things you should do, and not do, to get the best outcome for your situation:

First, it’s important to realize that you don’t have to be drinking to be found guilty of DUI. If you are tired, drowsy, have taken sleeping pills, allergy medicine, prescribed or unprescribed painkillers, anti-anxiety, anti-depressant medication, have been smoking or vaping pot etc., a police officer may arrest you for generally “Driving while intoxicated.” If you have been drinking alcohol, you may also be arrested for the secondary “Driving while BAC > 0.08%” charge.
