A Nebraska man wanted on warrants and theft-related crimes was caught by the police and arrested last weekend when he was caught after crashing into a tree while allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
According to reports, Russ’s Grocery Store in Lincoln was recently robbed twice by the same suspect, who was able to escape both times before law enforcement arrived. On the evening of April 2, an individual walked into the market and collected what was later estimated to be $50 worth of food items. One of the employees reported that they did not believe he paid for the merchandise, but it looked like he was heading out of the store. When she tried to interact with the man, he allegedly shoved her and continued out the door. The authorities were notified and began investigating the incident, but the suspect was not found.
On April 10, someone believed to be the suspect from the previous alleged theft returned to Russ’s and reportedly stole merchandise a second time. Shortly after the incident was reported, the police went to investigate an accident involving an allegedly drunk and reckless driver who crashed into a tree in a residential area. He was identified as the suspect they were seeking for the robberies.
