A homeless Black man was shot and killed minutes after he was approached by sheriff’s deputies for allegedly jaywalking.

There is much current unrest in society regarding forceful race-related police interactions, in addition to public cries for defunding the police to ensure specially trained responders can assist in de-escalating situations where officers may have failed to receive specific instruction.

On September 23, around 1:00 pm, bystanders reported to the authorities that they saw a man as he wandered into the street while several cars were traveling on the road. The vehicles were reportedly forced to weave and use their horns to avoid running the man over.

A man allegedly held three of his family members hostage in their home for nearly 17-hours and reportedly shot and injured three responding officers during the standoff.

Last Sunday afternoon, a man reportedly angrily burst through the door of his family home in Cedar Park, Texas while his mother and siblings were inside.

The man’s mother feared for her safety and the safety of her children, and she called the authorities to report a possible domestic disturbance. She explained that her son was refusing to allow the family to exit the home.

A security guard working at a private school in Florida may face felony charges after he allegedly shot a coworker in the face while showing him his gun.

Lauderdale Lakes resident Julian Antonio Suarez is a security guard for Kent Security who has assignments on school campuses.

On Thursday morning, Suarez was at the Lower campus of the Sagemont School in Weston, which is a private institution that caters to children from 3-years-old through 5th grade.

Dustin Adkins, 34, is a father who was convicted for an incident involving a gun he was showing someone that went off by accident. The bullet penetrated a wall, striking and killing a 13-year-old girl.

As a part of Adkins’ probation, the man has been prohibited from gun ownership.

On December 7, Adkins and 4 children, including his daughter, went into the forest with two rifles and two handguns and headed to a place people regularly use to shoot at targets.

When a woman emerged from her home with a firearm after hearing neighbors outside engaged in a fight, the weapon accidentally discharged a bullet that struck and severely injured her 13-year-old son.

On November 19, a resident reportedly spotted an unwelcome person standing outside of his apartment complex and decided to approach the man.

The two men allegedly got into a scuffle involving physical force and made enough noise to call attention to themselves causing alarm to a nearby woman whose teenage son was outside.

While a father was issuing a firearm safety lesson to his 6-year-old daughter the girl was accidentally shot, which resulted in severe injuries and felony charges.

26-year-old Eldon Mcinville and his family reside in Glendale, Arizona, just outside of Phoenix.

Last Thursday, Mcinville was working on cleaning his new shotgun when he reportedly decided to use it as an opportunity to give his daughter a few tips about how to interact safely with firearms.

A babysitter and the child she was caring for were shot during a house party after a man allegedly picked up a gun that was left unattended and the piece was reported to have accidentally discharged.

Six people went to a gathering at a residence in Olympia on Saturday, and the authorities have alleged that the attendees were using recreational drugs such as marijuana and alcohol during the soiree.

Just before 11:00 pm, the guests reportedly started to show each other their tattoos. One of the men, in an attempt to show the others a tattoo on his leg, had to pull down his pants. In order to remove them the man had to take the handgun he was carrying out of the article of clothing, and he reportedly handed it to one of the other partiers before he dropped trou to show off his ink.

Parents of ten children from Fairfield, CA, are facing several felony charges after police discovered the state of their home and the condition of their children leading to suspicion that the kids have been subject to neglect and abuse.

29-year-old Jonathan Allen and his wife, 30-year-old Ina Rogers, have been together as a couple since they were teenagers. When she was 16-years-old Rogers and Allen had their first child together, and in their desire to have a large family they now raise 10 children in their home, 8 of which Rogers is the father. The children range in age with the youngest being 4-months-old and the oldest 12.

Rogers, who works full time as an EKG technician on the graveyard shift, home schools her children as well, and Allen is employed as a tattoo artist that reportedly enjoys spending time interacting and playing video games with the kids.

On Thursday, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call from an undisclosed party reporting the need for a welfare check at Camp Pendleton. When they arrived they discovered the body of a 23-year-old mother of three in her Laguna Hills apartment who had been shot multiple times. The victim’s name remains confidential at this time as authorities had not yet notified her family.

Jerel Boykins, a 26-year-old U.S. Marine and the estranged husband of the victim was held as a suspect by authorities soon after his wife’s body was found. He was arrested as the alleged perpetrator the day after the shooting occurred.

Court records indicate the victim had filed for a restraining order early in September, and she submitted a detailed letter describing several occurrences where Boykins allegedly used physical violence or threats against her and other family members.
