A man reportedly sexually assaulted his 9-year-old niece, but he alleges that she forced him and that he is the victim.

On August 8, a 9-year-old girl was at school, and she let her special education teacher know that she had pain in her privates. A teacher’s assistant walked the girl to the nurse’s office. The nurse thought the child might have a urinary tract infection, and they called her mother.

In the meantime, the teacher’s assistant brought the girl back to the classroom. While they walked to the room, the TA questioned the girl about whether she had been touched inappropriately by anyone. The child reportedly said her uncle used his bare hand to show her how to wipe herself after she went to the bathroom. She also allegedly accused her uncle of putting his privates inside of her.

A Florida couple has been accused of abusing one of their adopted children by locking him in the garage from the outside regularly over the course of five years. 

46-year-old Tracy Ferriter and her husband Timothy Ferriter, also 46, reside in the Egret Landing community in Jupiter, Florida. They are the adoptive parents of four children. 

One of their children is a 14-year-old boy.

Parents have been charged with neglecting their son after they were accused of leaving the preteen home alone and without adult supervision for at least 2 weeks. 

34-year-old Melissa Green and Bobby Jo Green, 40, have an 11-year-old son. They reside in Elfrida, Arizona. 

The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office reported that in the evening on December 12, they got a call from someone that asked them to perform a welfare check at the Green’s address. The authorities reported that they were told that a child who lives there with his parents appeared to have been left alone for many days.

An Oklahoma mother is being held on a $100,000 bond after accusations that she abused her teenage daughter to the extent that the child reportedly intended to take her own life.

34-year-old Brianna Hale lives in Oklahoma City with her three daughters, and more than a dozen dogs.

On August 12, 911 received a call informing them that a person appeared to be preparing to jump from a second-story window.

A single mom in North Carolina is facing charges after accusations that she abandoned her two children on the side of the road without any supervision.

On October 2, 38-year-old Jennifer Westfall reportedly became so exhausted that she allegedly drove her two children to a location away from home and left them on the side of the road. Westfall is also being accused of having driven away from the spot before making sure that the youngsters, who are age 19 months and 9-years-old, were in the care of someone responsible.

A woman allegedly found the kids roadside without a guardian and took them to a nearby school where they notified CPS of the situation.

A woman from Odessa, Texas, was taken into custody after allegations that she stabbed her fiancé with a kitchen knife.

43-year-old Sarah Beth Blea and her fiancé, also 43, were reportedly in the CPS parking lot together late Sunday evening.

When the two became upset with one another Blea allegedly took a steak knife and tried to stick it in her beau’s chest. He moved his arm in the way to defend himself and Blea reportedly slashed him there instead.

On Wednesday evening around 8:30 pm, a woman heard frantic knocking at her front door as well as the ringing of her doorbell several times in a period of just a few seconds.

When she responded and answered the door the woman saw a 2-year-old child standing unattended on her front porch with a couple of bags next to him. The woman alerted the authorities for assistance in the situation and the police and child protective services went to her home.

The woman who owns the home where the boy was left has a surveillance camera hidden inside of her doorbell and it recorded the events leading up to the toddler ending up alone on the doorstep.

A New Jersey judge was scolded by his peers for ruling that an Essex County mom was guilty of child abuse and neglect because she occasionally smoked marijuana.

On Thursday the Essex County mother was cleared of her charges almost three years after the birth of her son, who was born with some marijuana in his system because the mom smoked occasionally during her pregnancy to help with her appetite and anxiety.

After giving birth, the hospital notified Child Protection. As a result of the report, the agency was supervising her parenting of the children and required that she attend drug counseling.

What to do when Social Services has been called—

You and your husband were arguing the other night. Neighbors called the police. The police told you that they had to arrest one of you and he chose you. You’ve bailed out of jail, you’ve contacted an experienced Orange County domestic violence or criminal defense attorney,  you are prepared for court and then you come home and there it is out of left field- a business card left on your door from the Department of Child and Family Services with a note that you must call a social worker. You call as instructed and are told that “your social worker” needs to investigate “your case.”
