A woman reported that she was physically assaulted on Saturday by the man she shares a residence with. The fight allegedly broke out when she refused his request for a ride to Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Calvin Shuler allegedly spent the entire weekend celebrating his 47th birthday using alcohol and cocaine in the residence he shares with the victim. He decided he wanted her to drive him to KFC and she denied him, causing an argument to ensue.

The woman became frightened for her safety and attempted to lock herself in the bedroom. Shuler purportedly became increasingly angry and threatened to kick the door down. He followed through with his warning and burst into the room when she refused to unlock it, and she claimed that he jumped on top of her while she was laying in bed and began hitting her.

A news release from the Placer County sheriff’s department stated that on Sunday evening a woman called for assistance reporting that a man had violently assaulted her and threatened to burn down her house. Upon arrival the deputies located the woman and accompanied her to a safe place. 27-year-old Christopher Williams was determined to be the alleged perpetrator, but his whereabouts were not immediately discovered.

The deputies set up a perimeter surrounding the residence and made efforts to get Williams to surrender. When several announcement attempts were met with no response they broke open the door of the home and were unsuccessful at locating Williams inside. A California Highway Patrol aerial search of the property and dwelling using heat imagery also failed to reveal his location. Deputies then sent a sheriff’s K-9 into the crawl space under the house to try to find Williams.

K-9 Officer Eros discovered Williams in the crawl space and proceeded to bite him on the arm in an attempt to subdue him. The sheriff’s office alleged that “Williams then grabbed Eros by the collar, held his face, and lifted him off the ground, choking him.” Deputies were successful in their attempt to get Williams to free Eros, and the dog was treated for minor injuries.

The trial for a Long Island, New York, foster father who is accused of numerous allegations of sexual abuse with children in his care began on Wednesday. Prosecutors describe his home as tranquil in appearance, having a nicely manicured lawn and classic cars parked in the driveway. But, was “like a prison” for the boys he was raising. Many of these boys suffered from mental illness or low I.Q.s.

According to the prosecutors in this case against Cesar Gonzales-Mugaburu, boys would wake up in the middle of the night to find Mr. Gonzales-Mugaburu allegedly on top of them. At other times, the boys would be chasing the dogs around the house and would allegedly find him sexually abusing another child.

One boy allegedly allowed the rape to happen. He hoped that if he submitted to Mr. Gonzales-Mugaburu and kept his attention on him, that he would be less likely to sexually abuse his younger brother.
