A Palm Desert man believed to be driving under the influence was held responsible for an accident involving five cars that reportedly left one driver seriously injured. The allegedly intoxicated man also fled the scene after the initial incident occurred.

Just after 12:30 p.m. on Friday in Palm Desert five cars were involved in an accident that was allegedly caused by a man driving a Nissan Altima who is suspected of having been under the influence of alcohol and possibly drugs.

The Altima that the driver, later identified as 37-year-old Jeremy Tellez of Palm Desert, initially made impact with a Toyota Yaris and a Honda Civic in proximity of his vehicle. The driver of the Yaris hit the back end of a Toyota Highlander, and the Civic collided with an Ford F-150.

A Los Angeles man allegedly driving under the influence in what is believed to be a stolen vehicle caused police to pursue him at a very slow pace for ninety minutes on Tuesday night.

A man suspected of car theft and DUI, later identified as 30-year-old Jose Arqimioes Figueroa, was allegedly seen driving the reportedly heisted vehicle in the San Fernando Valley at approximately 10:15 p.m. on April 31.

Authorities began pursuing the car and attempted to pull him over, but Figueroa reportedly continued coasting along at a speed of between 5-10 mph.

A man who formerly starred on a popular soap opera was allegedly intoxicated and helped by police officers when he was unable to order an Uber, but he was still charged with DUI when he did not take the Uber home and went to his vehicle instead.

On Sunday, May 20, 37-year-old Justin Torkildsen, a Daytime Emmy Award-winning actor who previously worked on The Young and the Restless was a patron in the St. Julien Hotel. While the Boulder, Colorado, native was there he reported that he had consumed four beverages resembling fruit punch and as he attempted to depart the staff believed he was intoxicated. They notified the Boulder Police for fear that it would be dangerous if Torkildsen attempted to drive in that condition.

Police arrived near 1:00 a.m. and they allegedly witnessed signs of inebriation in the way that Torkildsen was carrying himself.

After a collision between two cars took place causing several injuries in early September the woman who has been held responsible for the wreck has pleaded not guilty after being charged with child abuse and driving under the influence of marijuana.

Late in the evening on September 2, 20-year-old Adriana Sabrina Cadena was allegedly under the effects of marijuana when she was involved in a wreck with another vehicle in Orange, CA. With four people traveling in one car and six in the other, a total of ten people were a part of the accident. All of them were injured, though some more than others and four of the victims were children.

All of the people in the wreck reported that they were in pain, and one of them sustained broken bones. The four children who were passengers at the time of the collision were all reported as injured, and some of the victims were treated at the Children’s Hospital of Orange. Orange Police Department’s Sgt. Phil McMullin reported that Cadena would be charged for eight of the victims.

The man who was elected to serve as the new mayor of Sharpsburg, North Carolina, on May 8 has been accused of driving while impaired and five additional charges approximately one hour after winning the race.

Robert L. Williams Jr. has attempted to run for the position of mayor of the small town of Sharpsburg a total of three times. After losing the elections in 2013 and 2017 Williams went up against incumbent Randy Weaver for the position in the 2018 election last Tuesday.

After the voting at the polls had concluded and were counted Williams was announced the new mayor holding 51 percent of the votes.

A father who was driving with his two teenage sons just after midnight on Wednesday was allegedly responsible for an accident when he made impact with a train in Santa Monica, and he is facing felony charges for the event.

54-year-old Anthony Manual Beltran Sr. of Waterford, Connecticut, was driving in Santa Monica with his two 16-year-old sons on April 18 at roughly 12:20 a.m.

Beltran reportedly failed to stop for a red light at an intersection causing his Kia sedan to smash into a moving Metro Expo Line train. When Santa Monica Police Department officers arrived at the scene they discovered the car with its airbags deployed and all of the passengers were in need of medical assistance. Officers suspected that Beltran had been drinking and they alleged that may have been the cause of the accident.

A man who was suspected of driving under the influence was seen behind the wheel with bare feet and wearing only a pair of novelty alcohol-related underpants with his shirt when police pulled him over.

In the early morning hours of April 12, an officer reportedly saw a Dodge truck being operated erratically. The vehicle was said to have been veering between the painted lines on the road and the officer determined there was reason to perform a traffic stop.

Before the driver pulled over he allegedly slowed down the truck and threw what the officer believed was a black colored object out of the vehicle from the driver’s side door. He then regained his speed and pulled over in the parking lot of a nearby hotel.

A Santa Clarita Valley man who was reportedly recorded driving through Saugus with his friends while using his foot to steer the vehicle was involved in an accident with another vehicle. The driver of the SUV was taken into custody on Friday and is now facing charges on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

20-year-old Victor Canasmoreira was driving an SUV with three of his friends riding along on the evening of February 12. One of the passengers began recording a part of their excursion from inside of the vehicle and uploaded the video to Snapchat. The driver, later identified as Canasmoreira, was seen joking around with the others and with his foot resting on the steering wheel appearing as if he was steering with his leg.

Around 10:30 p.m., nearly two hours after the video was uploaded, Canasmoreira was cruising around a bend in the road while allegedly speeding and swerved out of his lane across the painted double yellow lines. As the SUV veered into the oncoming lane a sedan collided into its side resulting in an accident that reportedly caused injuries to both of the drivers and all three of the passengers.

A Las Vegas elementary school teacher on her way to work last Tuesday morning was placed under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.

46-year-old April Shepard is a fourth-grade teacher at Tom Williams Elementary School, and she has worked within the Clark County School District for a total of 21 years.

As Shepard entered the school parking lot around 7:30 a.m. on the morning of April 3 she reportedly made impact with two parked vehicles. When she tried to get out of her car she was unable to steady herself and two parents nearby came to her assistance by helping her to stand.

After a video of the arrest was recently released to the public, a New Jersey judge who was detained for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol in 2016 and found not guilty is now facing accusations that he used his position of power to try to prevent officers from detaining him.

Near 2:00 a.m. on November 12, 2016, police discovered a BMW pulled to the side of the interstate with its emergency lights turned on. When they reached the driver’s window they found a man reportedly sleeping inside of the car.

It was discovered that the man inside the car was Wilfredo Benitez, a part-time municipal judge in three local counties. When officers believed that he was intoxicated and attempted to take him into custody for the alleged offense Benitez was recorded on video using foul language and asserting that he is a judge. The video also depicts Benitez telling one of the officers that he was wasting his time, and threatened to fight him.
