A father and his girlfriend have been accused of child abuse and kidnapping after it was discovered that the couple had allegedly been forcing the man’s son into a locked space underneath the staircase for hours at a time over a suspected period of two to three months.

30-year-old Alex Craig Shadlow, and his 39-year-old girlfriend, Traci Lynn Tyler, share a home in Ackley, Iowa, along with Shadlow’s 8-year-old son.

During the summer in 2017, Shadlow and Tyler were reported to the police when their neighbors saw that they had placed the child inside of a tent to sleep for the night in the backyard during a lightning storm with heavy rain. The officer who investigated the claim made by the neighbor reported the incident to the Iowa Department of Human Services.

An 18-year-old who was sleeping at his friend’s house on June 3 has been arrested for allegations that he attempted to rape his friend’s mother during the middle of the night.

Jordan Corter of Arlington, Texas, was staying over at his friend’s house for a social visit on Sunday night. When his friend’s mother was about to turn in she removed all of the alcohol in the house from the common areas and brought it in her bedroom. She then went to bed and locked the door to her room.

In the early hours on Monday morning near 2:30 am, Corter allegedly tapped on the woman’s secured door. The mom cracked the door a little to see who was knocking and Corter reportedly forced his way inside of her room and pushed her onto her bed. When he had the woman on her back he allegedly stuck his hands down the front of her pajama bottoms.

On the afternoon of March 7, a mother reportedly left her 2-year-old son locked inside of her SUV in the heat for over half an hour while she was shopping.

On Monday around 2:45 p.m. Mt. Juliet police received a call from someone stating that they were concerned upon discovering a young child by himself in a vehicle in the parking lot at a Walgreens store.

Officers dispatched to the location and observed the toddler alone inside of the parked car. The boy was allegedly crying and soaked with perspiration from the heat and the police determined that he needed to be removed from the vehicle. One of the officers broke the window in order to retrieve the boy and paramedics arrived to make sure that he did not need medical assistance. They found him to be in good condition.

Two Maryland woman in a domestic partnership who share a home have been accused of several child abuse related charges when three children in their care were allegedly fed dog excrement and found with several types of injuries.

29-year-old Amanda Wright and her girlfriend 25-year-old Besline Joseph share a home with three children, ages 8, 9 and 10. The relationship between the women and the children has not been made public.

In a period that investigators purport began late in the spring of 2017 Wright and Joseph are believed to have kept the children locked in closets as well as in the basement of the home. Injuries on the victims led investigators to the notion that the women had been using several items, including sticks and belts, to beat the youngsters. A stun gun was also discovered in the home and assumed as one of the items used in the alleged abuse.

A single mother of four in North Carolina is facing charges after locking the door to her house with while she attended a Christmas gathering while her 10-year-old son was unable to get into the home. The boy had allegedly spent near five hours outside in the time she was away.

43-year-old Susan Dowless was taking her family to a Christmas party to celebrate the holiday when one of her children who was playing at a friend’s house did not come home at the time she requested. After she waited an hour she concluded that the boy was staying with his friend and she left for the dinner with her three other children.

When the child came home he found that the door was locked and his family was not there. A neighbor notified the authorities when they spotted the boy roaming around the area by himself while he waited for them to return.

A man was driving in an Acura in Anaheim late Monday evening when police ran the plates and identified it as a vehicle from Downey that had been reported stolen earlier that day.

As accounted by Sgt. Daron Wyatt of the Anaheim Police Department, officers pursued the car and the driver continued for approximately one block until he entered a residential area and stopped in the middle of the road. Police suspected there may have been a malfunction with the vehicle which forced him to come to a halt.

The man, identified as Norwalk resident Hector Munoz, then locked himself in the vehicle and refused to cooperate with law enforcement. Police used a PA system and made several attempts to get Munoz to get out of the vehicle, but he allegedly did not comply willingly.

A Florida father allegedly left his two young sons in the back of his locked car in a parking lot while hanging out in a strip club. He has been accused of child neglect.

According to staff at the establishment Willie Lee Jordan Jr., 23, visited Fort Myers gentleman’s club Scarlett’s Cabaret on Thursday, and he was asked to leave because he did not meet the dress code standards of the club. He returned in proper attire later in the evening.

One of the security guards on shift heard the cries of a child and went to investigate where the sound was coming from. He came upon Jordan Jr.’s locked SUV which had the windows open a couple of inches, and he saw two young boys alone in the back seat. A 3-month-old infant was crying and found in an upside down position in an unbuckled car seat. The other child, a 3-year-old boy, was sitting in the back seat and also crying.
